Hello, I’m Catherine. I’m a filmmaker, storyteller, and advocate for women’s health.
Storytelling is my way of exploring the world—of understanding it and, hopefully, making it more beautiful along the way.
I wear many hats: Filmmaker, Psychologist (almost), Actress, Mother, Advocate.
My heart is anchored by the ocean in Sunshine Coast of Australia in a little surfers cottage near the sea, where my days are filled with the divided heart of relishing in the fleeting magic of childhood and following the whispers of my creative purpose. Family, friends, creativity, and a passion for making change paint the walls of my weeks. After years of traveling to remote cultures and sparkling cities, this is where I’ve landed, raising my sweet daughter and dreaming up new ways to tell stories that matter, and that make change.
Right now, I’m diving into 500 Sundays, a documentary born from my desire to know more, learn more and be more. I initially yearned to search for the positive female role models that I craved growing up and then realised I wanted to not only find the wise women, but also actually become a role model, for my daughter. So thus, 500 Sundays was born from a need to find out everything about the transformational passage of perimenopause and menopause, and create a manual of transformation for the whole of womankind.
Women’s health has always been close to my heart, and this project is my way of creating space for the conversations we don’t always have but desperately need. For lighting the way and igniting the movement, felt so strongly in my bones.
Creativity is my constant companion, woven through every part of my life. It’s in the way I aspire to mother, the way I work, and the way I see the world. A sparkle on a lake. A shard of light through some glass. The rain falling on my daughters soft hair. I’m always looking for beauty in the messiness, for the stories that aren’t being told, and for ways to bring them to life so that they have the space and opportunity to move people and sink in deeply.
